Putting in a car window (no bolts)
Alright, I broke my car window a week ago 'n I just now got a new window for it. Unfortunately it has spray paint on it so if anyone could tell me how to get that off that'd be cool, I was thinking paint thinner.
But anyway I guess normal windows you put in using bolts? And mine does not have that, I guess they 'glued' it on.
So I was just ripping out the tubing around the window and but I can't put the new one on without an adhesive, so I was wondering what I would use to put it on. My parents are going to the beach tomorrow so I'll have awhile to work on it, shouldn't take too long anyway.
Only got 12 bucks though, hope its not too expensive.

use a razor blade to scrape the paint off
call your local auto parts store and ask them if they carry anything to suit your needs. I'm not sure what kind of adhesive they have.
how much was the window

53 with tax, got it from a junk yard.
other place wanted 75, so I saved some dough, only had 69 anyway.
Yeah I guess I could call an auto shop 'n ask them what I would use. Kinda late to call right now though.
Oh, and since I started this topic anyway, I needa change my oil soon, and I noticed at save-a-lot they have oil for like 2 bucks a bottle, is that shit oil though? 'Cause I remember it being more expensive at auto zone so maybe theres something wrong with that oil?

unless your getting some synthetic oil, it shouldn't be more that 2-3 dollars for a quart. Your gonna have to go to autozone anyway cuz you'll need a an oil filter as well.
Well, you just gonna have to wait till tomorrow to get that call in.

Like he said just use a razor blade, it's simple. Don't worry, it won't scratch the glass.

it helps if you got a pair of angled vice grips to hold that razor blade.... believe me your hand is goign to cramp lol... i remember scraping a bathtub completely covered in soap scum (cleaners even stool wool wasn't doing it) after i was done, i couldn't move my hand from a clamping position...
you are of course take the door panel off to put this window in right? what window and where? cuz i've never heard of bolting in windows...
