harvest

hey just a couple of quick question from a newbie whos just a couple of weeks away from harvest 1, when pulling up plant ready for drying should the light be on or off. ive been told that keeping the light off or harvesting in the dark keeps the buds nice & tight...2,does anyone else have any input on dipping the roots in boiling water for a few seconds before removing them. again ive been told that it shocks all the goodness up to the top of the plant...any advice or help would be great thankyou :hippy:

the boiling water is a myth, it will do nothing but waste your time and make a mess. you can keep the lights on.

Light degrades THC and the THC levels in the plant cycles throughout the day (from what I've read, could be wrong). So, from what I've heard, the best time to harvest is right before or after the lights go on.
