hempheadjack's said some good things here. meditation is about inner peace, relaxation of the mind, and about channeling / reorganizing your chi / energy. basically what i like to do, is to sit down indian style, lay my arms hang loosesly and my hands rest open on my knees or around that area. I close my eyes, relax, and begin breathing deeply and rhythmically. Silence is usually what I go with, but I guess you could listen to some quiet music. I like to block out the worries of the day, whatever I am stressed out about or whatever, and just imagine two poles of energy coming out of my arms and reaching into the heavens. Then I attempt, in my mind to move the two bars into one united bar, and try to maintain this balance and unity. It helps me clear my head and relax... give it a try! hope this helps.
