    What is this?

From what I know, Promethazine is also known as Phenargen, and it's used for alot of things. As I assume you're talking about the pills, or the suppositories, these are their uses:

    Perennial and seasonal allergic rhinitis.
Allergic conjunctivitis due to inhalant allergens and foods.
    Preoperative, postoperative, or obstetric sedation.
Prevention and control of nausea and vomiting associated with certain types of anesthesia and surgery.
Therapy adjunctive to meperidine or other analgesics for control of postoperative pain.
Sedation in both children and adults, as well as relief of apprehension and production of light sleep from which the patient can be easily aroused.
Active and prophylactic treatment of motion sickness.
    Antiemetic therapy in postoperative patients.

I highlighted the primary uses. You CAN use this drug recreationally, because it is MILDLY sedative, but I WOULD NOT reccomend this, as it can effect your kidneys, even in small doses.

Basically, it'll hit you like a light sleeping pill, and that's about it. I suggest avoiding medicine like this unless you're actually sick. In that case, if you're puking and can't keep any food down, Phenargen, or Promethazine, will stop the nausea and vomiting.

So there's your info. You're welcome.
