butane extraction

hmmm i happen to have two cans of butane around the house. one is Ronson ultra butane fuel and the other is Bernzomatic butane. i'm a little hessitant to try it becuase there is a warning on the can bernzomatic can that says this fuel, and byproducts of combustion of this fuel contain chemicals that are known to cause cancer.
how can you be sure that ALL the butane (and any other miniscule chemicals) are out of the oil?

You can do a mirror test. Spray it onto a mirror, if it evaporates completly, with nothing left over, it is the one to use. Although when you wash the buds with it there might be a liquid left over besides the oil, that just came from the buds. . . test it on a mirror first.

2-has anyone ever tried drinking the final substance? if so how bad does it taste?

You can disolve it in a strong alcohol, 150proof & up. I use Everclear, it's another way to make Green Dragon. You can even heat the GD a little after to get more out of the mix. You don't drink that staight though, mix it with coffee or juice or something. . .

just did the mirrow test with both bernzomatic and ronson. both left the mirror perfectly clean. this doesnt neccesarily mean its pure, but probably pretty damn close.

i have found myself the easiest way to make a decent amount of oil is using Isopropyl alcohol & using a crockery dessert bowl to burn off the excess alcohol resulting in a very tacky golden goo that just fucks you up but you have to do it on the lowest heat on your stove top or just leave it in the sun to naturally evaporate lol fuck im stoned lol soak weed in alcohol overnite just enuf alcohol to barely cover the top of the weed then strain thru a coffee filter & slowly reduce the resulting liquid with a *very low heat* (extremely flammable

Heating Alcohol is very dangerous - i wouldnt advice anyone to do it. Not even on a low heat.

i just did it, my room is full of butane, i dipped some buds in it becuase there was no way in hell on scraping it out.. impossible to make a perfect hole in the cap..

i have done it with alcohol thousands of times & have never had a problem as long as theres plenty of ventilation & you use a crockery dish that disperses heat evenly you should be fine

just a quick addition DO NOT LET IT BOIL just simmer it off blowing over the top of the bowl keeps it from boiling or a fan on lowest setting you want it to evaporate not overheat

ok so i tried this last night. the first time i dont think i did it right. the butane just shot through the tube and pooled up clear. i let it dry and there was nothing there. nothing to scrape up. so i packed the same weed alot tighter and tried it again. same result (probably screwed the weed the first time). after that didnt work i decided to not let the weed go to a complete waste and smoked it (a little under two bowls). after smoking all of it i got a SMALL buzz, so most of the THC went somewhere...just dont know where. any ideas?
