we just start the plants inside, wait for them to show sex and only transplant the females.

in fact our green is said to do better than that grown farther north, because we're closer to the equator and get more direct sunlight
Ljudska Reviewed by Ljudska on . Growing during summer in the south?! I live in the very southern states of the us where the summer temps reach anywhere from 95 to 105 degrees. I have read somewhere on here that high temps tend to cause male plants, so is growing outdoors here pointless? Rating: 5
