well, i'm definitely moving to socal, and probably soon, and i'm going to have to scrap my current grow. i am a chronic lyme disease patient, and that is the reason for the move (to be with family during treatment); i am going to be pursuing a medical MJ scrip, and with my symptoms, i think it is highly likely that i will receive one

anyway, i've started planning for a new growroom, and the garage is the primary candidate. i can use as much space as i need for the growrooms.

there are two problems with this garage: first, it is not attached to the house, so i will have to open the garage door, go in, shut it and do my gardening. secondly, there are no air vents. no windows, nothing. the garage is in a row of garages. if it came to it, i might be able to cut a hole in the ceiling, with a rain-cover over it, but i think the association would probably nix that idea, and of course i'd rather no one knew what i was doing, which of course comes back to the first problem

the other possibility is a cab-based grow in the bedroom, but because of odor and fan noise i'm really reluctant to go that route.

anyway, i have ordered a 250w hps (the basic setup from insidesun), and i will use that for the flower room. i'm thinking that i will probably flower 2-3 plants at a time. it's not a large light, but i'm interested to see how much i can do with it, especially with good light control, perhaps scrog, LST etc. i will be growing northern lights, but i assume that once i get the med scrip i will have access to seeds from co-ops? though i really don't know much about that

for the veg room i plan to use 4ft T5HO bulbs, probably 4 of them for 20k lumens, 216watts, on two different fixtures, so i can move one in close for the clones, and one up higher for the mothers.

i'm hoping in time to have at least two varieties, i'd like something part-sativa so that i have a more UP alternative to the NL, and a c99 cross looks attractive, but all in good time.

the house is in orange county, CA , near the ocean, and because of it's proximity to the ocean, temperatures generally do not get very hot. you do get a fair amount of ocean breeze humidity though

anyway, what i'm envisioning right now is something similar to the setup used in the "i grow chronic" vid, though i want to start with soil. the issue is that, as i've mentioned, i can't get any freshair in. however, i'm hoping this won't be a big issue, as the garage is opened several times a day anyway. i imagine that i might want an intake and exhaust for each grow room, and certainly will want circulating fans. i figure i'll simply use 2x4's to make a bit of a structure, and then drape black/white poly for walls, i also have mylar

i'm hoping that i can maintain temps without an active intake

appreciate any advice i can get. my biggest concern is walking out there everyday, opening the garage, going in, and closing it. i don't want to make waves with the uptight association, even if what i'm doing is legal

peace

it's been a big bummer that i'm probably going to have to kill off my 6 new baby seedlings i've started here, but if i can acquire a med scrip quickly upon arrival in CA, hopefully i can find a co-op and get some relief more quickly anyway.
