Howdy DPoisen,

How many weeks has it been in flower ?

The best way to determine when to harvest,is by looking at the color of the resin glands,but you'll need a 25x power magnifying glass or scope. If you could find out what the majority color of the resin glands are then we could help answer your question better. There are three basic colors that you'll be looking for,milky,clear and amber. For a trippy,up,high-harvest when clear.for more of a body stone and euphoric,happy high-harvest when amber - deep amber.

You can't always base your harvest time , on pistel color..some strains are ready to harvest before that many pistels have died and started changing color.

I think I'm getting close to harvest, I checked a small piece of leaf with my radio shack special and most of the trichs are cloudy with a few clear and a few amber. Do you think its time? I would really like to harvest soon coz I have a spider mite problem that I really cant do much about at this point..

After harvest should I wash the buds off to get the bugs/poo off, or does it even matter?

Howdy Dave,

I think that it's not quite ready yet,I think that you should give em until the trichomes are all clear -with amber being numerous. Probably a week or so..do you know what week of flowering they're in ?

As for washing the buds,don't do that,it could cause them to get moldy,lol..the bug poo and bugs..are extra flavor-no charge..lol.

Did you mean when all the trichs are cloudy with a few amber? I'm about 7 weeks into flowering give or take a few days. The spider mite problem just recently started to escalate, Is it something I should even worry about at this point?

pull it now,,thats all i have to say,,pull it,if you dont,it wont be as good as if you pulled it now,,,,,,dont listen to anyone,,it is ready,,i only had a glimpse away,i didnt even blow up pic,,it is ready,i have been growing too long to hear about anything,,it is ready,,you will cook what you have in there if left in longer,,,,,pull it,,dont do shit to it after you pull it,,just hang it for atleast 7 days,,it is a big bud,,Jack and hang with root and all,,except shake dirt,,

I think the cloudy trichomes are immature,they go to clear,then amber. 8 weeks of flowering,is the rule of thumb,for maturation..sativa dominant and pure sativas,can take up to 12-15 weeks,to mature.

Jack says it's ready..he's probably right. It's too late to worry about spider mites,have you been giving them plain water,to flush em out ?

I think hempheadjack was replying to Dpoison's plant in regards to pulling it now..

The only reason I question the clear/cloudy thing is coz I found this chart that says the opposite:

And yep, The last couple of waterings have been nothing but pure water. As far as the spidermites go, I decided to get in there with a soft toothbrush and sweep off as many bugs as I could from the major leaves, making sure not to disturb the buds and trichs. It took me a few hours yesterday, Did it again today, should stall them for awhile, atleast till harvest.

pull it,,spider mites are sucking you up,,pull it,,good luck,,as for the other one ,,i hope he pulled it,,oh yea,,dont believe anything you read in a pot book,,some people are to scientific,,just go by your gut feeling,,and as for looks,,never,never judge a bud by its cover,,and ,oh yea,,i never read a book in my life,,good luck

No cloudy is good, clear is immature torog. Harvest now.
