Another interesting thing, somewhat related to this sleep paralysis, is to dream youre dreaming. Sometimes i am dreaming, then i "awake". Or rather, i think i have awoken, cause the dream i was is suddenly interrupted, but im still dreaming. Then, i "awake" again, but still am dreaming... Sometimes it happens a lot of times. Once, i feel i had "awakened" almost 10 times. And still was dreaming!! I was becoming scared, cause i was very conscious i was dreaming, and though i tried to awake, i only could dream i had awoke, and not awake in the "real world". Then, after some minutes of struggle, i managed to really awake...
It happened after a night of heavy smoking, and i was beggining to smoke in that times. Dont know if there is a relation... it had happened before i started to smoke, but not with so much dreams inside dreams.

yea i had this when i was younger a few times, its known as a false awakening, id always want to wake up when im in the dream and i knew i was in it, but once i was awake i regretted it, since you can do whatever you want without concequence in a dream, damn

azure Reviewed by azure on 04-25-2007. sleep paralysis Does anyone else have trouble with being paralyzed when they wake up from sleep? I read some about sleep paralysis on the internet, and on wikipedia, they mostly say that its caused by the brain during REM sleep. I dont know if I agree with that though. Im no scientist, but I do know what my experiences have been. I have practiced meditation for the past few years. I have practiced astral projection. I have succeeded only a few times, but since Ive started practicing meditation, and Rating: 5

Oh yea we talked about this in my PYSC class. It happens sometimes when you are awakened during REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. Weird stuff. I had this happen as a child once but I haven't experienced it in a while.
