Looking for "hard" stuff
When I mean hard, I'm talking about a style similar to these bands, a raw, punkish, hard sound. Like the following bands:
Rage Against The Machine
Lightning Bolt
At The Drive-In
Desparecidos
Shellac
Something really hard, not in a metal way, more like a punk way.
Any suggestions?thcbongman Reviewed by thcbongman on . Looking for "hard" stuff When I mean hard, I'm talking about a style similar to these bands, a raw, punkish, hard sound. How about Deathboy? It's like a weird fusion of punk and electronica. Unusual sound, and some of their songs are pretty hard.

Definitely girl it a whirl. Doesn't seem very common, I'm waiting in queue
But keep the suggestions coming. Even if it doesn't completely fit what I described, suggest it!

Brainiac - is very underrated. Anyone who likes 'Nevermind' (nirvana) would crap their pants when they hear 'Smack Bunny Baby' by this bunch. They got a in your face kinda attitude and their music shows it. Smack Bunny Baby was there first album and the most traditional, as they made more albums they started adding more electronic components to the music. When i first heard them i was hooked for a month straight.
YOURCODENAMEIS:MILO - a criminaly underrated textbook deffinition of what popular 'indie' music should be. Indie in an at the drive-in way, not all this audible litter poluting mtv and fuse.
Les Savy Fav - similar to YOURCODENAMEIS:MILO & ATD-I. In short, a verse-chorus-verse band that dosent suck ass. There not 'Heavy' persay, but then good luck finding anything heavier than Lightning Bolt (lemme know if you do find something heavier than lightning bolt tho lol)

if you like lightning bolt, check out wizardzz. they are in the same vein, but more prog-rock sounding and better in my eyes. (i'm not a big fan of lightning bolt)

You might try Nightwish. They play operatic metal. Very melodic, and quite unusual. Their rendition of the theme from the broadway show The Phantom Of The Opera always makes me giggle.
