I bitch about stuff like that too. Stickies are ignored though and the same questions are going to keep popping up. Asking what strain you have is a worse question, but it will still be asked... New members don't realize it is a stupid question at the time. Just bear through it and politely inform them there is no way of telling.

Someone should devise a way to determine how much a certain amount is, like for example lets say if you pack a bottle cap full of weed then thats a gram or whatever.

I was thinking about doing that since I have a scale, but I never bothered. Don't have any weed now anyway.

Yeah stuffin weed in any space could never account for the general density of the bud which is what determines weight. I've seen a range of small buds to huge nugs for instance weigh the same. Good idea though.

...by volume....not weight...is my measurement...as a grower...I think in terms of one full Quart jar....I just got that off my mind...too...:thumbsup:

Isn't volume and weight directly proportional when you are dealing with the same substance?

I mean, all 1 gallon jugs weigh the same with the same liquid, right? So why wouldn't you be able to pack the same weight of weed into something? Density wouldn't affect it that much. It would depend on the consistency, but if you pack it tight it won't matter.

Its like, I know that a bowl full in my (now broken :|) pipe is about .3g depending on how much I fill it.

In theroy, I guess you would be able to get a pretty close measurment, but who would break up that much weed and compact it that well. Unless you are only talking about a gram or too, I don't see who would waste the time.

I don't think you would be able to do it in bud form because their would still be alot of pockets that just aren't getting filled in. I assume the only way you could really do it, is if you ground your weed into a near powder.
