Hey, just wanted to drop a line to some fellow Louisiana peeps! Hi ya'll! I was born in Baton Rouge, and grew up in Catahoula parish (in the second oldest town in the Louisiana Purchase after New Orleans-Harrisonburg) I went to NLU (now ULM) for a year, dropped out and traveled the country. Since 1999 I have lived out here in Santa Cruz California...and love it very much.

Yup, like Cali a lot...ya'll know how repressive the po-po's are in LA and TX? Out here you can just walk around smoking in public. There are a couple of places here in town you can just walk up in and buy herb like it was a candy store or something!

But I miss my mama's gumbo so much! Fortunately, I can whip up a hell of a gumbo myself! And the crawfish.....oh god how I miss a good crawfish boil!

Thats funny. When I was 15, I ran away from home (I was living in Florida). I ended up hitchhiking and my adventure ended in Monroe. I ended up in a half way house in Shreveport for a bout 3 weeks. Definitely an adventure walking on the freeways in LA. It was pouring rain, I was jogging on the freeway and nobody would pick me up, then finally a trucker did. I was done and I told him to just take me to the next exit. I went into the little store and called my mom and dad and told them that I had run away. They said "no shit" "where are you?" I said I dont know and I asked the guy in the store and he said I was in Monroe...
