keep this in mind: if you're in the usa, by federal law they cannot simply use a thermal imager all over the place; they can't "sweep". they have to have a warrant to inspect a particular place, and by that time you're already under investigation

it was ruled that it breaks privacy to use this without a warrant


and yes there are plenty of ways to defeat it. tomthehippie's shed-thread (not sure which forum) has a lot of good implimentation and advice. apparently, UK growers do have to worry about police sweeping it seems


short of it: if you're in the usa, it's not a bad idea to make arrangements to keep things safe, but by law the police can't just helicopter around or drive around with a thermal camera and sweep your area. go privacy!
