    First time grow, Female plants

At the moment it looks like I have 2 out of 4 plants that are unfortunately male as they are much larger than the rest and are showing other signs of males .

I am on to week 4 now and the others are looking rather small, but after bringing them closer to the light they are picking up a bit.

I was just wondering if there is a way to make plants feminine and if you could list the growing conditions in order to do so or if they are just feminine or male from seeds?

I am currently growing in my wardrobe (parents are cool about it) and I am using a HPS grow light (white light). ventilation is quite good too.

thats not showing signs of sex yet! do u mean you 4 weeks in to veg? cus if so they wont show signs for at least another 3-4 weeks. there are many things you can do to help seeds become female. the best and easiest thing 2 do is to buy female seeds.

Yeah.....I'm not seeing anything either way yet. Don't let the explosive growth fool you. Just look for little watermellon-looking balls or white hairs.

environmental factors start influencing sex the moment the seedling has 3 pairs of true leaves excluding cotyledons. increasing N in veg, lower P within the 1st 2-4 weeks. slightly lower temp week 1 to 4.. a dash of superthive. Higher humidity also helps. Also blue light helps promote females and less hours of light in the photo period.

Ok thought I might just add this here to save forum spamming. Im a noob so what are CFLs (lol) sorry it's a sin and also what does LST mean? Obviously I haven't got that far as the grow logs seem to suggest it at 8 weeks. Thanks very much in advance!

Ok no replies, but I've found out what CFL means (Compact fluorescent lamp/light). Still don't know what LST stands for?

Low stress training, bending the plant over so it constantly grows up and you can manage the flowering easier with a bush of a plant so to speak if you LST it properly.
