Just an Idea. I use those CFLs all the time in My grow Box.

I know people say get them as close as you can If the temps permit. I assume you know that already. but are you sure your temps are in Tact?

What stinky said is right you look like the plant is lacking somthing. Lockout salt buildup whatever it is..

I have notice though Using the Twisty CFLs that as close as possible isn't always best. cuz of heat but I also believe b/c of the shape of the bulb its light isn't spread over the amount of space that it needs to be when they are super close to the plant. I actully have had better results when I keep them at least 2 inches to 4 inches away from the plants.

I find It covers more area of the plant rather than an intense amount of light hitting one corner of my plant. Just an idea.. I noticed what looked like some slighty burnt tips of leaves then saw the light right there.

I could be wrong though but experiment. I did, and I found with those bulbs "Twistys" they didn't work as well 1 inch away from the plant. I moved them higher above the plants and I found my plants didn't stretch as much, grew thicker and stalker, had bigger leaves and I was able to keep my plants cooler as well.

Just some thoughts from a fellow CFL user.,.
