This is a theory that I subscribe to, in part, at least.

And, if our 'reality' was a simulation, wouldn't it be fair to surmise that, because of the human nature of 'conceit', that the 'programmer' of this 'reality' would want to instill somekind of 'recognition' for his 'work'...ie, our 'fascination with God'?
(probably didn't explain that very well, but I think you get the gist.....?)
