First grow! Opinions? Cure my worries! (WhiteWidow)

Ok - Well it seems to be all going nice at the moment.

Plants have been growing about 10 days now.
Plants are under a 400w HPS lots of distance away from it with them being so young.
    They're getting 24/7 light atm.
The room is well ventilated. (carbon / O3 filter soon)
Temp of the room sits at pretty much ~30C - It does drop a little come night.

Please check the pictures below - I realise I did a silly thing in having two seedlings grow really close together in the same initial pot - I'll be transplanting all plants out of these pots in the future into much bigger 2ish? gallon pots.

I've not been adding any nutes yet to the plants.

They are being watered with distilled water once ever 2 ish days at the moment and I try to let them dry out nicely before they get another watering.

Worries: Right i assume this is because i need to start adding nutes! Basically on the bottom (older) leaves the very first leaves (other than the original little rounded seedling ones) they are starting on some plants to:

    A. Curl very slightly
    B. Slight yellowing
    C. Slight little brown spots
    D. Some little brownish spots on the tips of the leaves etc / on the spikey bits toward the edge of the leaves.

    More pictures soon!

    I'll keep this thread updated!

    Heya Tiwest

You can keep a 400w about 30 - 45cm above the top of the plants.

24 hour light isnt a great idea, get a timer and put it on 18/6, Heres why:
Grow Marijuana FAQ, Cannabis cultivation - marijuana growing tips & photos

Try separate those seedlings somehow, the bigger they get the harder it'll become to get them apart.

I gave my plants 1/4 strength nutes when they were 3 weeks old, then half strength after a couple feedings, the full strength after a couple more. If you see signs of nute burn (downcurling dying leaf tips) just flush the pot with 3x times as much water than soil.

Otherwise it looks good, HPS is better suited for flowering though, you want a Metal Halide for veg. I have a hps/mh ballast, can swop the bulbs when ever i want.

    Anyways hope that helps
    Peace :rastasmoke:

Dont worry if lots of people dont post, the forum is pretty dead, if you need any other help just post questions on my grow log (http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-gr...ml#post1249525) and i'll try answer them

The Drugs forum grow faq in my signature is loading with anything you'll ever need to know, if you feel like something to study, its all there.

    Anyways peace out

    Hey man

Overall they look pretty good and fairly healthy - Good job. Just a couple suggestions:
    1 - I'd give em a low dose maybe 1/2 strength ferts.
2 - Seperate those two ASAP before the roots are all intertwined with each other
3 - I am sure others may disagree, but really you don't need the distilled water. If you got some fine, but if you run out don't worry about using regular water from your sink.
    4. Also be sure not to overwater and let them dry out good between watering and then soak them till they drain. Too much water too often is the most common mistake with any type of plant.

Good luck with them man they look real good so far.

true... distilled water is not necessary unless you KNOW you have a serious problem with your tap water. And you could be setting yourself up for Ca def.

    Emergency!

The bottom leaves of one of my plants have basically died! They are very brittle to the touch!

Also please note the picture of another plant which is experiancing brown-ness of the tips of one set of leaves.

The colors of the photos are very off so its not anything to go buy - Other than these problems the plants are growing fine and are a healthy green colour.

I have mixed nutes in with the water now and applied that so i'll see how it goes.

From what i've read the conditions i've described are nutes defficiancies.

Anyone able to see any thing that needs a blatent fix?

edit: forgot pics! here they are!

Curl is from overwatering and the spots are probably from ultra-high PH but could also be from root-rot from not being allowed to dry.
Less love and more checking on what you're giving them might turn them around but if the few leaves you have on the plants are already dying I'd be thinking about planting more seeds ASAP.

man it's cool, i think you have a ph issue though. Make sure your soil ph is around 6.5. don't give them any fertilizer yet. and make sure the your soil is pretty dry to the touch before you water again.

Ok here we go - It seems it was a PH issue - Below are a couple of pictures / updates.

So since the seeds germinated its now been around hmm 3 weeks.

The plants are around the 5/6" mark - I'm thinking of transplanting them very soon into much bigger pots (2-3 gallons?)

Does their appearance/height look/sound kinda right for the current time they've been in veg, or does it seem as if they look a little stunted?

They might be a little stunted, and I think the brittle leaves are from over fertilizing. In my case it is, but they look good, I ordered White Widow seeds, but they were confiscated. Bummer. Will be watching!
