    fluorescent lights

I know someone who wants to grow in a closet, and they are worried about the rise in the electric bill. What do you guys think of 25 watt 4 foot fluorescent tubes?

    they work for veg alright, i use 4" 40w but 10 tubes (5x2 bulb fixtures)for a 4'x4' space.

Tell that someone to tell someone that someone knows what they are trying to do.

Cfls work pretty good from my own experience. As far as electricity goes all I can say is that if you read the package, a 26W CFL puts out as much light as a 100W regular bulb. So you are getting more light for the same amount of energy. Nothing wrong with that.

And replace all those 100 watt bulbs with CFLs! Four 26 watt CFLs run on just about the same amount of electricity as one 100 watt bulb. So, for every 100 watt bulb you replace with a 26 watt CFL, you can stick 3 CFLs in your grow closet with virtually no change in your bill! Switch enough of them, and your electrical use might even go down! And no one is going to think anything about your buying a mess of them- it's the "green" thing to do. Just be careful about any you break- nasty stuff inside! - Granny:hippy:

Talk about a post to lighten your day. By the way, what does "CFL" abbreviate?
