and what about places of buisness, or being caught on the street? i dunno about you, but if someone's about to kill you, i'd rather die trying to get the first shot off, then just stand there like an idiot and be shot... it's a last resort oppurtunity... if someone's just trying to rob you, and doesn't seem like they're gonna shoot you, then it's best to not pull out a gun... but if you can tell they're intent is to rob and shoot (and you can...) then you might as well try to save yourself...
