Some observations after watching grindhouse baked...

I smoked a pretty fat joint of some high potency bud the other night and went to watch the movie "grindhouse" with a couple friends. My friends drink but don't smoke, and I don't smoke often... so needless to say I was stoned like a motherfucker. The movie was fun as hell to watch, but I couldn't follow the plot of either feature worth shit (its a double feature). Anyone else ever have this experience? I'm thinking this is basically the side effect of "short term memory loss" while stoned that you hear about. It was as if ever new scene was a completely new movie or something. I mean, the actors were sort of familiar, but basically I had no idea what the hell was going on. I just enjoyed the dialog and/or action of each scene a lot. And I do mean a lot... it was like the best fucking movie I'd ever scene at the time. But I didn't know what the hell was going on with the big picture, and remember only bits and pieces now.

I'm starting to realize weed always does that to me, and that is part of the reason its fun. Its like everything that happens to me is a surprise. Playing music with friends is especially fun b/c every riff or groove I throw into the jam almost surprises even myself... its like I'm listening to myself play.

Does all this make sense? Does weed effect you in this way too? Its fun at the time... very fun, but also, its something I don't like to experience to often. I mean, I'm pretty much useless to do anything productive while stoned. My memory basically goes to shit for about 3-4 good hours. My thoughts don't flow into each other... its almost like life restarts every minute or two.

... or maybe this latest bag I've scored is just some wacked out strain. Who fucking knows?

I saw it baked as hell, but i smoke pretty regularly, so i followed nicely, but i saw the reno 911 movie, (sucked balls) and i coudln't follow and scene, because i had smoked a huge 4 gram blunt and had 2 firecrackers with 2.5 grams of headies in them, i was burnt out and couldn't understand the movie, haha

You got to know the referance to get into Death Proof. Zoe is the shit! All to gether though, watching it just made me want to watch a Troma movie. I think I went home that night and watched Igore and The Lunatics. It was a tribute film, both of them were. . . I do admit they did turn Kurt R. into such a bitch, I though he was a stunt-man, He can't handle a shot in the arm? It looked like a graze. I bet Stunt-man Mike cried like that when he got that scare on his face too. . .

Funny... my sober friends said they same thing. But me, being stoned, couldn't follow Planet Terror worth shit but I was able to follow and really enjoyed Death Proof. They said its probably because Quentin Tarantino was stoned while making Death Proof... so only a baked person could get into it. There's something about mind-numbing dialog that's cool when, well, your mind is numb. ;-)

Plus the chics in Death Proof smoked pot every once in a while. Maybe that was Tarantino's way of saying, "smoke up before you watch this one." hehe. I should try watching the movie again sober and see what a difference it makes.

i saw the movie smokin aces on acid and i can honestly say i dont remember one god damn thing from that movie.
