now i have a 250w hps in the closet, but i really don't think i want to deal with HID in a cabinet; simply because of noise; then again, i'd consider it.

anyway, so either i'd put the 250w hps in there, or i'd use something like this:

i wanted to get a 4ft+ wide cab so i could put 4ft T5HO's in there, but that seems unlikely. this is just the right sort of thing; with a good lock, i think it would do well; i'm thinking the odds of getting something like this with 4ft+ wide is pretty slim

i could hang the fluoro fixture low and do SOG and just leave most of the top space for heat to rise, and get sucked out the back

anyway, interested in what y'all think. if i had some serious active cooling i could probably rig the hps, but the reason to go cab's in the first place is for low-profile and massive fans sucking air out the back raises my profile a lot

LOL, check out the bootleg cab I just made for my closet. I needed a 24/0 cab, and I needed to keep things in one closet. . . I threw it together quick I hope it holds up. No ventalation though. . .

You can use the HID. Just get abunch of those little computer fans. maybe like 4 4" fans would do it. 250Ws dont put out that much heat..

yeah, using the 250 would be very nice. especially considering i already have it coming. the THING is, what i really wanted was for someone to be in the bedroom, and not be able to hear ANYTHING from the cabs. maybe, if i run a quiet 120mm nexus PC fan on say, 7v, as exhaust for a cooltube for the HID, maybe that would be enough, along with another fan as a standard exhaust, and a lot of passive intake holes in the bottom. all vents in the back of course, has to be.


now, i have no plans for people to be in that bedroom, but it is possible; if it happens, i want to be ready

it's got good height, but the width and depth leave something to be desired. wanted to grow two plants, but the bottom leaves won't get much light if i do that, heck; the bottom leaves won't get much anyway. SOG would probably be best, but it's sort of the wrong dimensions for that as well

anyway, my seeds are here and i'm soaking 4 of them. will germinate 6 of them and leave the other 4 for whenever


i got some target giftcards, so i'll see what they have before i pickup this puppy; i do like the clothes-bar to hang my light from, and it's a pretty good looking unit

i haven't bought it yet. just got in contact with the seller. it's pretty difficult to find good grow cabs that aren't the cheap pressboard white crap

and i don't need white because i have LOADS of mylar coming to smother the entire inside

i just wish it was a bit wider and deeper for two plants
