Is pot more acceptable than drinking now?

Well around the group of people I hang around with, yes, I'd say weed is always there, whereas the booze isn't.

Now as far as a general consensus, I'd have to say that drinking is still what's cool whereas weed still gets me a few dirty looks. Oh well, there's always another lifetime..

thats spot on me and my mates dont drink atall but all our familes are weed smokers and growers we dont mix with piss heads

I toke everyday and like to toke a bowl to myself at times. Everyone knows that and no one looks at it as bad. Yet I know of other seniors that drink everyday and most people feel concerned about them. Has pot finally become more acceptable than drinking? Meh, I don't look down on people who drink. Drinking responsibly is the same as smoking responsibly. You can drink and get a good buzz without having to go overboard.

The way I tell if I've gone overboard, is if I get too fatigued. Then I'll go get a soda or some coffee.

That's what im hoping - im hoping our generation wont belive the bullshit - and note down everything this government has done - then they can do the opposit and make our country worth living in again.

i honestly dont ever think weed will be more socially acceptable that alcohol...i mean were talking about something that it rooted DEEP in history, something thats been done (abused) for centuries. For example, wine is essential to french and italians, not to mention jews. All over the world different cultures have made their own forms of the same stuff, alcohol, to get drunk. SO no, weed will never be more acceptable imo.

i agree with macwq reefer will never be more socially acceptable than alcohol i have to keep it a secret and i do. i have 2 or 3 friends i smoke with and that's all. most of friends have no idea. i have even heard them said mean stuff about potheads they know, all the while they're sucking down booze. makes me kind of pissed. i don't drink hardly any but i sneak around to burn one. ain't is a shame.

That will never happen, who teaches our children? The same people who tell them weed is terrible long before they can even understand, or argue the point. Don't get me wrong though, I wish that would happen.

no not where I live... ppl around here are against weed an up for drinking hard alcohol... I just dont understand it.... but weed is more social than booze in my oppinion because when I drink I feal sick and I just want to pass out and die or on the other hand I get violent when I drink so Id rather not drink at all but when I smoke I just chill with a smile on my face and like to talk to other ppl I am smoking with and laugh and have a good time etc. anyways I dont see cannabis being more socially acceptable except for when I went to Vancouver, BC and over there I saw it more accepted compared to where I live. ( some ppl have told me to get drunk instead of smoke where I live... damn stupid people)
