Just drank DXM for first time

DXM is a dissociative drug commonly found in OTC cough syrups as a cough-supressant agent. When taken at high enough doses, it basically fucks you up big time. I love it, though I cannot recommend it to anyone who doesn't know as much as possible about it.

My official stance: don't do it.
My real stance: Research it as much as possible, learn everything you can about it, and decide for yourself. If you do that, you'll find that it's actually quite safe (though using it too much IS very very bad and my REAL stance on that is NEVER use it more than on a monthly basis... but everyone has their own choice).

i've done dxm a few times but i was wondering what if any are the negative effects on ur body? If its nothing major then the trip is defenetly worth the damage. DXM kicks ass.

Certain studies have shown that chronic use of a dissociative can cause brain lesions, but that theory has been discredited over and over again with the use of DXM. There have been studies that have shown chronic use (over 500mg daily) have had little to no physically adverse effects, but that's a bit suspicious to me. Personally I can't find hard evidence to show that DXM itself has ANY negatives with light use... the negatives usually come from FUCKING IDIOTS taking DXM from sources that contain other active ingredients besides DXM. And yes, they are IGNORANT FUCKS. They are the ones who make DXM use so taboo, and they're also the ones who usually "hear about some drug that'll fuck you up" and take it without knowing how/why it fucks you up, and what bad things it can do to you. This is obvious because if they actually took the time to properly research a chemical, they wouldn't bother popping CCCs or drinking shit with guaifenesin, etc... they'd find out that CPM can kill you and guaifenesin will make you puke your brains out.

Seeing as i've never done it, I can't really judge you for doing it and i shouldn't, but the way i see it drinking a bottle of cough syrup looks like a pathetic desperate way to get a buzz, but hey if it gets you high and you like it, whatever, it's your body not mine

Cough Syrup doesn't give you a "Buzz" it fucks you up... but im a good way. For me it was a really hard trip and it was awesome. There is nothing desperate about it. It is a good high and if I could do it all the time I would.

Also, cough syrups just happens to be the most common sourse of DXM. You can also get pure-DXM powder or pills that contain a recreational amount already in them. I happen to enjoy the effects of DXM, and I usually don't feel like ordering a pure powder online when I can easily buy some Tussin from Jewel. The only bad thing about syrup is all the glucose in it, which puts a strain on your pancrease (the organ that regulates insulin, in case you didn't know). But so does eating a large peice of buttercream cake.
