    When to harvest

get a pocket microscope and check the color of the trichs if you see about 20% or more of them turned amber, then cut her down. She looks pretty ripe to me, triched as hell and swollen up pretty good. Beautiful plant mate. Don grab your axe by reading my post, some people may have better oppinions. Great job

^ You hit the nail on the head Paul - Always harvest on the colour of the trichomes to know when the plant is at it's full maturity - Alot of people think you harvest by colour of the pistilles but the pistilles have nothing to do with the maturity of the plant.

Also try and not touch the buds - the trichomes which contain the highest levels of THC and CBN/CBD will come off as they are oil capsules while the plant is growing, they only turn to crystalls once the plant as been fully dried.

I'd harvest soon - although it doesnt look to be a very large yeild, it still looks like a nice plant.

Just as i thought guys, think i'll give her one more week. Your right about the small yeild Lip it will be a small one but there are 4 plants so should sort me and my buddies out for a bit (Drought or wot???). I put them on 12/12 to early so they would show sex and read somewhere that you would stress them out reverting back so i just left them...

Hang upside down for 24 hrs then into newspaper till dry???

    Thanks for the replies guys...

I dont know if you want to cure the buds or dry them quickly - but i normally hang the whole plant minus the fan leaves for 3 days, then i trim all the smaller leaves off, and throw all that. Then i trim all the very small bud leaves off and collect them for hash. Then i hang it all up again [just the buds] for another 3 days. Then i jar it all up and cure for 2 - 3 weeks.

That way i get a good few grams of nice hash from the bud leaves and very small trim and i get nothing but bud.

Also the more you manicure it the better it looks in my opinion.

Damn, i really want to have some plants on the go after talking about that but i wouldnt have enough time to grow and harvest before i go to the dam in the summer.

    When to harvest

Well you can harvest the plants and cut all the leaf off straight away, saving the bud leaves if you like, so your fully manicured even before drying. Then hang up for at least 4 days. Putting the buds in a paper bag might speed it up to 3 days. Also have a fan blowing indirectly on the buds, just so it's moving the air around - and make sure the humitidy is low so the air is dry.

Bascially for the optimum smoke curing is the way to go as it breaks down chemicals such as chlorophyl which gives it a planty taste, and also more THC and other cannabinoids are activated which is turn means the herb is stronger - not massively but notably. You can easily tell when it's nearly perfect to smoke as the buds turn more greyish then green - as theres no chlorophl in the plant matter - so you get all the active cannabinoids and the taste of the skunk, and not the taste of the planty chlorophl.
