fanless cabs?
is it feasible? i'm looking at maybe 6x26w cfl's for veg cab; probably 4x54w T5HO bulbs for flower cab. lots of holes drilled for ventilation.
what i'm really shooting for here is the ultimate in low-profile undetectable growing. low-odor strains. odor control in the box, and hopefully no fans; if i had to do fans i suppose i could get away with some nexus or yate-loon 120mm pc fans, and could run them as low as 5v, as i do in my PC, but no fans would be silent. of course the chances of smelling out something are still probably higher than detecting a quiet 120mm pc fan

fanless cabs?
i'm picking up this sucker tomorrow. going to be my little veg cab
with a little creative lockwork, wiring, and venting, i think it could be the shiz-nit for mom and a few clones
a bit squat, and not long enough for 4ft tubes alas, gonna have to keep mom under wraps

You need fans.
If you are that worried about the noise, run all the fans off a power strip with a switch and just turn them off if company comes to visit.
Of course, if it's your mum you're worried about... :wtf:

no mums
and my mom would toke up with me
i'm single, rented 1bdrm appt; i think you're right; that'll be fine. just need a kill switch
what about passive intake with an active fan exhaust?

yes that should be fine for a flouro grow!
if you can add a couple little fans on the inside for circ that is even better.

It's a nice cabinet and all but you have already answered your question yourself when answering a similar question from another member shortly after you joined... http://boards.cannabis.com/grow-loun...ml#post1365613
and you still can't hide a grow from your housemates...especially mom.
