Anyone ever lose their urge to smoke?

Ok, ok...before I go into this, lemme give you a little background about myself. Im a 19 year old college kid that has been smoking since late Junior year of HS. I usually smoke about once, maybe twice a week and only crip, never regs (just dont like it.) But, as of the past 2 or 3 weeks, I have randomly been smoking everyday. No reason why, I guess there just hasn't been much to do.

Anyway, about 7 days ago I felt a pain in my chest everytime I went to take a full deep breath. I decided I would stop for a little bit as God knows I could use a break. The pain left 2 days later but my urge to smoke has yet to come back.

Literally, I'll be sitting around a table of friends smoking a blunt or passing a bowl and it will come to me and I'll just pass it on. It's not even tempting to take a hit AT ALL and I dont understand why!?!?

So, my question to you all...has this ever happened to you before and if so, how long before you got out of the phase?

Yeah dude. Sometimes a break is nice, and feels good. If you don't feel like smoking I can not think of a reason why you should think you have to smoke... Ya know? Smoke when you wanna, when you dont wanna, dont. ha!

I definatly do lose my urge to smoke once in a while. I think its important to stop once in a while, especially if you don't feel like it. I'll smoke pot every day for two weeks straight, and then its like I feel almost saturated or something. So then I take a break. Its cool because when I take the break, I'll usually set a limit for how long I am going to 'fast.' Always gotta stick with it though, so if joints and stuff are passed around, I'll always say no. Takes breaks like that help me ensure I've still got control over the marijuana, not the other way around.

yeah dont worry about it maybe you just grew up? i would see that as a steping stone that most of us will never get to...

whenever the urge not to smoke weed grabs a hold of me I stick my head in a doorjam and slam the door on my coconut 7 or 8 times and I'm usually back to normal after that.

yeah its normal, i stopped smoking for a month before simply because i didnt feel like getting high and it didnt interest me. dont worry youll want to get high again it might be alittle while but you will.

i only smoke 3x a week, i'd smoke more if i had rolling papers and a peice ( getting on thursday hopefully )

But smoking 3x a week is GREAT for me, every high is really good because i don't smoke every day

I feel terril to admit I smoke a;most every day. Most days I smoke 2-3 times a day. That's SERIOUSLY giongt o stop now because I don't have a piece. It broke. So, I'm just gonna do it on days when a friend offers and I pay him/her later. That only happsn about once a week on a weekend day.
I envy you guys though.

I will say one thign though: I have NOT let weed effect my grades or my life. I mean, hell, I even try to make sure to do it ALONE and at home. I'm really paranoid. Every couple weeks I'll go out with friends, or I'll have 5-7 people at my house just to sit, smoke, and daze out and eat and stuff. It's fun as hell, I'll admit.
About my grades, I got a 1680 out of 2400 on my PSATs. I got 640 (out of a possible 800) on Critical Reading and Writing Skills. Even then, a 640 was better than 96% of the Juniors. Not to mention, people know I'm really smart. The only reason it was a 1680 is because I SUCK in math, so I only got 400.
What I'm trying to say it, I do smoke a LOT, but I don't let it effect me as someone who was "addicted" to it was. I had to help one of my girl friends out to make sure she didn't do that. She started saying, "I dont' even care about school anymore, I just want to get high, ya know?" It scared, me.

Yes, but only because I really can't afford to smoke like I do... I can afford really anout an eighter a week, but I burn through a solid quarter weekly. Not that I'm spending more than I make or anything like that, but I'm definately over-budget for my herbal intake. Just too much time on my hands...
