    Off to college...

I am going off to college this fall and I am wondering what plants other than Cannabis I can grow indoors to gain experience for when I move to a medical marijuana state and grow my own. I am looking for not too big of a plant, one that has needs similar to cannabis, and one that doesn't smell too bad.

    I will probably be using a 250w hps from e-conolight for $90.

Grow area will be determined after I move in, but I can probably set aside a 4x4x10' or so.

Thanks for all the help you all have given me!

I heard a long time ago that Tomatoes require about the same care as Cannabis plants. But this is why I'm going to a community college so I can still have my little indoor op going on while I'm making grades in school lol. I can't stop growing just to go to a better college, fuck that just as long as I get my degrees.

Tomatoes eh? I'll keep on growing em, I have never grown em hydroponically though. I should just keep a small garden of hydroponic things going. Hmmm... or should I go soil and make it easy? So soil it is out of simplicity's sake. 2 different types of tomatoes, 1 potato plant (always wanted one), maybe some peppers, and a bonsai thing of some kind that I get to play Edward Scissor Hands with.

I can't wait 2 years until I can transfer to UofCalifornia Sacramento, University van Amsterdam, or Oregon State. Best thing about the colleges? I qualify for a medical patient in all of the places!

I'm not sure about Amsterdam how their medical marijuana system is setup, but I hope a foreigner on a school visa can be a patient there. I know that you can buy up to 5grams at a time, but I don't want to have to walk to Greenhouse Seed's shop to buy 5g every couple of days, maybe I do

I still would want to grow my own anyways, I just need to find out how if I go to college there.

I'd recommend chili peppers (various varieties). I've had good luck with them in hydro. Fun to grow too. I've also heard that certain varieties of strawberry work well in hydro but have not tried any yet.
