Buds with no odor??! WTF?!
Hey what's up everyone,
I just made my first harvest about 1 month ago...Skunk1 x Hogsbreath....to make a long story short...they were completely dried (step snapped) and then cured for about 2-3 weeks. However, when the plants were flowering they stunk like nuggets are supposed to. Now the buds don't have any dank odor to them. Just like, a plant smell. WTF?!If anyone has any clues or advice I would be extremely greatfull. Thanks and peace

Buds with no odor??! WTF?!
ye, this has happened to me before. I thought it was a lack of THC in the strain. I know that using nutes too late in flowering gives the plants a really chlorophyl like plant taste, maybe this is the reason for the smell (or lack of it) if you didn't flush or went on too late. This is just a guess so don't take it for certain, I could easily be wrong. Curing them for longer may bring out the smell more, is the smoke nice?

Yeah I hear curing them is a good idea.
Sometimes when you buy bud, it may be a bit wet, not completely dry. This bud doesn't have a pungent smell.
I just leave it in a mason jar for a week or two then it reeks like bob marleys grave.
I don't know if this is the case for everyon, but it works for me.

Buds with no odor??! WTF?!
Thanks for the replies everyone. Regarding the potency: it's getting the job done, but it sure ain't medical grade! Amstron, I think you may have turned on the lightbulb for me. I've "flushed" the plants maybe twice in the 3 months they were growing but I'm pretty sure I screwed that up due to using too little water to efficiently flush salt deposits and the like. I've been using nutes throughout the plants life cycle; Hesi TNT Complex for veg and their Bloom Complex for the first 3 weeks of flowering and I added their Phosphorus plus to the bloom there after. I haven't heard of many folks using HESI products on this website so maybe there's a reason for that. Thanks again for the responses! Much appreciated.

Flushing isnt that important, in my one grow video (sponsered by hesi) they dont flush once!
Well if the stems snap its too dry, maby your drying method sucks.
You should dry it in a cool, dark room, no direct airflow on the buds. Or use this method:
"For curing i am going to hang buds in a cool dark room for 24 - 48 hours, or until the surface of buds are dry, then place them in a sealed bag for about 8 hours or until they feel damp again, this will redistribute the moisture from the centre of the bud outward, then i will repeat the cycle again and again, but shortening the duration of each phase slightly as the buds will begin to dry and sweat quicker and quicker, in three or four days buds should be ready for consumption or storage."
*that was entirly plagerised from the High Times - Ready ,Set, Grow! video
Open Air 24 hours
In Bag 8 hours
Open Air 16 hours
In Bag 6 hours
Open Air 12 hours
Continue as necessary
Peace

Thanks Blank, thanks Faithless. I'm honestly glad I'm receiving some good feedback about the HESI ferts. They did a great job of growing / flowering the plants...but with all the info out there re: ferts and the way they effect taste and all that, I thought it may be my culprit. I WILL be watching this HT video you mention. Thanks again y'all

i disagree with the flushing thing... flushing is very important to the end quality (smokability) of the herb... aty leasty discontinuing feeding and onyl watering which is flushing afterall.
