odor in an appt
ok, so the more i plan the more "what if's" i come up with on the subject of getting busted. maintenance having to come into the appt is my biggest concern. now, they should never come in while i'm not home (unless the place is on fire), but it's quite possible that something might need to be fixed while i'm growing, likely in fact. so, my growroom is the closet in the bedroom in the back. there's nothing in there that should ever have to be fixed, but i can't have anyone assaulted by smell coming in the front door
ok, so i've got nirvana northern lights on order, and it's supposed to be low odor. but i've also heard otherwise. my grow-closet will have veg on one side and flower on the other, no specific dedicated exhaust or intake, just an oscillating fan in the crack of the sliding closet door (doors open a bit) to pull air in and spread it around.
so, the room is rather open. it's not like i can suck all the exhaust through a tube-filter and pump it out a side window. i don't have a dedicated exhaust to the outside.
so, tell me, is this bad news? i tell ya, the more i plan, the farther away this gets from me. i'm definitely on the fence right now about the grow at all; better to buy bud then to get busted; i keep thinking i might have to wait until i can buy my own place to grow inside, and of course that would be smartest, but hell, i want to grow now........ so many "if's"
i've got some "ona blocks" on order, but i am doubting that would be enough

odor in an appt
i have grown out Northerlights from Female seeds and they barley had a smell to them. only time i could smell them was when i touched the bud and smelled my hand. But im not sure how Nirvanas NL is. It shouldnt be that big of a problem.

I also live in apt and my girls are NL too. Good thing that I did was to build a separate flowering chamber(In my bedroom) and my carbon air scrubber takes care of the odor.
I also let the digital timer to turn on the one of those.. Air Wick Scented Oil thing.. you know? and I placed a Hamilton beach True air right outside the bedroom. I am harvesting in 4 weeks and I don't smell shit!
I think this is what everyone is doing, right?

ok, so what would be an affordable odor control? i saw the DIY one in the FAQ section but it's a tad out of my league. i really can't spend hundred on odor control, my budget is already stretched

odor in an appt
I spent about $50 and made 2 DIY carbon air scrubbers. and I bought a bag of crystal kitty litter($12) and 2 activated carbon($5) from pet store. 1 Air Wick Scented Oil($5). I needed a exhaust fan that can handle the air scrubber.. It's 250cmf 120mm industrial heavy duty 120v fan for $20. I guess I spent well over $150..
SOB! Now I am gonna kill myself..
Just wait see how it goes.. If it doesn't smell that bad.. I would just buy a Hamilton beach Trueair Plug-in and a Air Wick Scented Oil thing.

odor in an appt
Hey mate,
Im growing Northern Lights from female seeds. Im only growing one plant in a closet and it has a very strong smell. It might be low odour (wouldnt say so from my experience) but that doesnt mean it doesnt smell. I am about three weeks from harvest and it stinks!
However I am in a similar situation as you. The room where the closet is is checked once a month. I just use loads of air fresheners and ventilate the room whenever I know its gonna be checked. No probs so far and I am almost all the way there to smoke my own shit! Ventilation is key to reducing the odour else it will stink badly.
Good luck
