Although Ron Paul Has some very good points, and I agree with about 80% of his agenda, I still would not vote for him. Libertarianism has no place for the downtrodden, the poor, the handicapped. It is everyman for himself, a taxless society where the rich rule by virtue of holding all the money. No union representation, no government protection of the environment, no stewardship of our natural resourses (forests, lakes, streams, national parks, etc.) The only use for government accepted by libertarians is the protector role, protecting their property and the the protection of the country itself. Policemen, firemen, and the military are all libertarians care about as far as government entities are concerned. They would privatize everything and as you can see (Haliburton) privatizing the military has opened the door to coruption and downright theft, plus insufficient handling of their responsibilities. Take a real look at the private Medical care we have in this country. Too expensive and mediocer care. The issue of privatizing anything, is the whole onus is on the bottom line, not the quality of the product. So although I like the freedom aspects of Pauls agenda, and less big brother would suit me fine, I cant go along with privatization of the country, as corporations have no soul, they are controlled by greedy assholes that have to cowtow to greedier assholes on the Board of stockholders and along the line the workers and consumers get the shaft.
