It's sad that the dead end kids have no better opportunities than the Military. When I was young, there was a draft, there was Viet Nam, so your escape opportunities included Jail or Canada. Jail was out and Canada was too cold. so I opted for the Army. I survived and lived to tell these tales. I see no other possible agenda but a re-instatement of the draft. Our military is in dire straights. The government wont admit it, but they can hardly field enough troops for Iraq, let alone any other wars the warmongers want to start (Iran, N. Korea etc). Not very many young people want to volunteer for the killing fields. I believe that those that start wars should be on the front lines. In the old days, the king was right on the battlefield, usually out of range, but there nontheless. I would like to see all the Whitehouse idiots patrolling a hot zone in Bagdad, in un-armored Humvees, just like they sent our young men and women to do, With GW Bush tied to the hood like a deer.
