T5HO: am i missing something or is this the shit?
i'm reading that the T5HO flouro's can produce 92 lumens per watt!! plus because of the heat you can put them far closer to your plants, resulting in more light transmitted to the leaves, PLUS less heat issue, plus the light is more evenly dispersed. considering metal halide gets 80lumen per watt, i'm suprised there's not more fuss over this. this is some kick ass shit, and i wouldn't scoff at someone wanting to use them for veg and flower.

it seems the issue is "penetration" for flowering with big grows? also HPS can be up to 150lumen per watt
i don't get the penetration idea. if you have the same lumens as an HPS, why would the light penetrate the canopy less? is it the wavelength? or are people saying that, in error, with the idea in mind that you wouldn't be using as much lumens?
