I figure its about time for the thc boards to have a thread for all the post-rock fans here.

some of my faves from the genre would have to be, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosions In The Sky, Jessamine & Do Make Say Think.

please tell me some other potheads listen to the good shit...

I saw them on the 1st. Magical is too weak of a word. You feel their passion while they played.

God damn you guys are so lucky. I would probably sell a kidney to see DoMake . Its all good tho thc, i feel the passion every time i listen to them tho. oh my godd how i love Horns of a Rabbit.
Disco & Haze, The end of music, Goodbye Enemy Airship the list goes on and on such an incredible band, its exactly the music i wanna hear in the backround of a killer high. Anyone who cant appreciate them has no respect for music & should stick to the regurgitated crap they call music.

either of you guys heard of The Timeout Drawer?? there great too.

but dude, you are musically ignorant. Come on, Alice in chanis?? i liked that shit when i was 11. If you dont want me to pass judgment then perhaps you would like to list some other bands you listen too. Im gunna judge you either way and theres nothing you can do about it. the way i see it your just some arrogant kid that thinks they have a unique or individual taste in music when in reality you have been listening to the same 10 or 15 albums your whole life. Like thcbong would say, "introductory bands".

I know i shouldnt care and its immature but god damn. You offended me on a fundamental level by starting an alice in chains thread and made it that much worse by putting it in your sig. You offended me by propetuating (sp) the crap you hold in highest regards as music. I know everyone has a right to listen to and love whatever music they want, but when i see all these all these kids stuck in music suburbia (the area inbetween mainstream and good shit, these "introductory bands") its makes me angry. Angry because the artists that do play with passion, the artist that pour their hear and soul out on their guitars, drums, keyboards basses whatever dont get the respect they deserve for creating some of the most beautiful art on this godforsaken rock.

You know what metaphor, i respect everything you just said, I do. My opinion of you has also changed. I respect what you said and how you explained it. I do find AIC deep but like you said everybody has different tastes in music. AIC wasnt really mainstream or you could say they were the least of the mainstreams(pearl jam, nirvana, stp, and so on).

Cool man, im glad we see eye to eye now.
do me a favor, go and download the album Spiderland by Slint. If you like AIC that album should blow you away.

Everyone sucks at listening to music except me. It's just a fact. Metaphor is pretty good, as is THCbongman, but I'm just superior to everyone.
