PPms in soil.....not really sure....ppms are a hydro thing. It's used to measure the amount of nutrients etc you add to your water=parts per million.
As far as i know you simply add whatever it says on the bottle to your water...no need to measure ppms in soil but maybe other soil-growers do so I will leave that question for them.

PPM is important regardless of medium choice. Do pay attention, as your soil can build up a deadly toxidity if you don't leach your soil once a month to rid soil of your rootzone of toxic salt build-up. Peace
