Right, it's not the size of the buds, it's the stage of maturity.
Some strains ripen all at once. Some start from the bottom up.. and some from the top down! So you just keep your magnifying glass handy and you should be just fine.

I was thinking I would do my regular florakleen right before harvest, then just cut the larger buds. Then, I will go back in a week and make a second cut. The whole time for the 2nd cut, I would just be running water or sugar water... Any input??? Rating: 5
