Oh GAWD that is to me the sorest subject that a cultivator can have brought up... thx...
But seriously, I have quite a bit to say on the subject.
First off, commercial growers profit off the criminal status of cannabis... their profit comes off the risks they are willing to take to produce. It is in their best interest to keep cultivation illegal! WTF... pisses me off... but if they were forced to compete with 'real' farmers (this is not to say that we aren't generally a well educated community when it comes to horticulture~) who have land and expertise, the price would drop through the FLOOR and since it's such a simple plant to grow really, tossing a couple plants in your veggie patch would keep you in buds for the year and commercial cultivation would simply supply the city folk who don't have the space.... JUST LIKE SUMMERTIME TOMATOES.
    Don't EVEN get me strted.
Would I Love to speak out publicly? Absolutely. Do I think that I could make a convincing argument? Sure.
BUT... Am I terrified to open my mouth for fear of persecution by a very conservative government? Hells yeah. It really is a tough position to be in... the people who benefit the most also have the most to lose... cashcroppers can't say a peep because if they got cultivation legalized, they would lose their livelihood. Medical users who are growing despite the consequences, they often can't say anything if they live in states that haven't got into the medical thing yet, for fear of arrest if they are caught! UGGH
Then there's the rest of us. I have basically resigned myself to this niche: I talk to my circle, I talk to people I meet, I have even talked to my [conservative] father about medical cannabis use- he's actually proud of me even though it is illegal to cultivate in my state, we have no medical waivers. And I spend a lot of time here on these forums trying to promote a more mature approach than the growing in your mom's closet one, lol. And trying to discourage the situations that I have seen result in violence in the past. It's a matter of pride to me to belong to a mutually supportive community whose goal is to educate one another. I think this is a very good place to start... who knows where we wil end up! Look at Latewood! I have a great deal of respect for his recently stated goal of working out in the open for reform. I can't go there yet so I'll just work in my little subversive ways until I grow some guts.

without a doubt i will; however, i have to admit that speaking out does make problems for the low profile grow op i'm trying to do. that is the rub. but, it needs to be said. and i could care less whether someone has a doctor's note or note, the plant should be legal in every possible way shape and form

and, i could also care less about big growers loosing their business; that's a pretty small price to pay, especially when some of the monster cartels can be violent and many different types of narcotics sales can fund them, including marijuana

the simple truth is that this plant should not be illegal; the government should not decide what we do with our own bodies. if you're hurting someone else, then you should be taken down; what i do to myself is my own fucking business

I would have a hard time openly admitting to the use of mmj, or the cultivation of it with legislators, a governor, or certain people of that nature..however would do it, because that's the best way at making them realize that it does help people, but I would certainly not announce it to the public that I do that, unless I had MMJ laws in my state. But as for now, I will diligently correct anyone saying marijuana doesn't help people.

I have no problem telling anybody, regardless of who they are that marijuana benefits thousands of Americans despite what the feds say...12 states have laws protecting their citizens. Now is it only a law that makes marijuana within those state boundries beneficial? I think not. Marijuana has and always will help people regardless of what the bullshit laws say.

If I had a speech about it written and I knew it well I would definitely protest about it. If you love it there is no reason why you shouldn't want to be apart of the movement to legalize Cannabis for all purposes. From recreational to medicinal there's no reason why a plant has to be banned. Hell if they believe a plant has to be banned that has been here before America was even thought of they should also ban tomatoes because they are nasty lol!

[my son has pushed some buttons here,But man i want him to understand that me speaking up for the legalisatoin of our beloved plant would cuase me untold problems.
    1. i would risk the chance of losing my medicatoin and have to buy the poison that is sold on the streets in the uk(sprayed with silicon) hermied or whatever other shit has been added the it.
2 Others would be persicuted for me trying to releave the pain caused by my conditoin, ie my younger kids(the type of freinds she has parents would make their kids cut ties with her).
3 My landlord would throw me on the street.
4 My customers would take their bussiness else were would want to deal with the evil drug grower.
5 would go to prison due to previous convictoins.
All this for trying to releave my pain and that of other meidical users who i give their medicatoin for free. That is the state of the mentality of the goverment who run my country.
I agree totaly with evrything stinky attic says but my son thinking of me as a hypocratic asshole has really pulled the right strings .Should i f*@&k the consequencies and do my bit or would my input really make any of a differance to the movement? then again if everyine thought like that nothing would get done? he(my son) reckons that if every weed user in the uk medical or recreatoinal stood there ground and took to the streets protesting the goverment would have to act.
Any one think this would be the case?
Stinky i also agree with the statement you made about those who grow in there parents house without permisoin are very imature and have know place putting others at risk.I beleave( though this may not be a popular view) that youngsters should not experiment with cannabis until they are over 18 as i beleave that cannabis abuse at a young age especialy while the brian is still developing can do themself and their mind lasting damage. cannabis is devfenetly not a drug to be ubused while young as it can exagerate adolecant problems tenfold(only my opinion )leading to phsycological problems that can have a lasting affect.
On the subject of commercial growers. There are commercial growers who care about the quality of there product but sadly they are far and few between most just are intresting in the money they can make and the quality comes second and some just dont care about the damage their product can do to users medical or recreatoinal.come on spraying ur product with silicon beads to make it weigh more that is just down right evil.
remember people always be safe.the postman.

Postman, you and I are on the same page for sure.
I think it's important to be able to explain what you are saying to your kids but tell them that the activism that you are involved with has to be of the quiet sort; telling them that educating your peers is also a very important TYPE of activism! It's just the only one that is available to a home grower at the moment.
Especially when you have children, you really do give up some of your options! They need to know that your first responsibility is their safety and that when they are 18 and living on their own, THEN you can even consider putting yourself at risk of prosecution because you no longer have the first duty of providing for their needs.
This is a good time to teach them that SOOOO important life lesson which is you need to pick your battles very carefully.

i agree though when the time comes and my situations changes(kids grow up) i will then throw my self and whats left of me deep into the activist side but until then i will just be following the advice of stinky attic.

Dutch pimp we here in the UK have had weed downgraded from a class b to class c but the government are hell bent on reclassify safe the postman.
