Does the DEA wait for the plants to mature before busting?
News from DEA, Domestic Field Divisions, New York City News Releases, 04/09/07
I would almost swear that those plants look rather mature, and it's not the first that I've seen them carrying bushy ass budded plants out...I wonder what the fed's method of drying and curing is before they sell it?
Oh and by the way, the picture of the 'grow room'..there's no fucking way that would hold 700 marijuana plants..DEA busts and investigations always seem fishy as fuck to me..
"On March 27, 2007 a federal search warrant was obtained through the United States Attorneyâ??s Office Southern District of New York."
The warrant was obtained nearly two weeks ago? Have they been waiting for the plants to finish or something? I don't see any arrests, so they weren't waiting for that.
Anyone else think it's just a bit fishy?Markass Reviewed by Markass on . Does the DEA wait for the plants to mature before busting? I have heard that they waited until harvest season outdoors to start looking and smelling around for marijuana gardens but I have never heard of them waiting for harvest times for indoor gardens because indoor gardens can be started at what ever time of the season it is. Maybe it's just a coincidence..
edit: LOL the grow house was on 1895 Amsterdam Avenue. I know those officers were enjoying the smell of those babies.

I've taken the liberty of putting the text here... But as usual the reporter got a little carried away... lol my comments in green... This is kind of a good example of how NOT to run a commercial grow!
Marijuana Grow Operation Found in Manhattan Apartment
More Than 700 Marijuana Plants with Street-Value of Over 2.8 Million Seized
APR 9 -- (New York) John P. Gilbride, Special Agent in Charge of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, announced the dismantlement of a sophisticated hydroponic marijuana indoor grow operation and the seizure of over 700 marijuana plants that were each three to four feet high. Sophisticated, eh? Yeeeeeah... check that mylar job on the walls... big op, but run by jokers.
SAC Gilbride stated, â??Marijuana cultivation and distribution is a crime that generates millions of dollars in illegal profit. Last night, DEA discovered and shut down a complex marijuana grow lab that had the potential to harvest hundreds of high potency marijuana plants.okay, here's the reporter getting all moist in her panties... oooh!!! high potency!!! Yeah? how do ya know? ya smoke em yerself?
DEA Special Agents gleaned information that a vacant apartment located at 1895 Amsterdam Avenue was being used to produce marijuana. DEA Agents went to the location and could smell a strong odor emanating from the apartment. On March 27, 2007 a federal search warrant was obtained through the United States Attorneyâ??s Office Southern District of New York. If they could smell a strong odor... it wasn't all that sophisticated!!!
Upon entering the vacant apartment, DEA Agents discovered a sophisticated marijuana grow operation inside the six room apartment. Electrical power had been pirated from at least two locations along with other utilities including water and natural gas. There were six different rooms which contained varying stages of marijuana growth; a grow room, drying room, packaging room and processing room. The apartment contained various timers for lighting, heat, two large commercial grade air conditioning systems as well as several pumping systems for water and fertilizer to the plants in the various growing room. The apartment windows were covered on the inside and equipped with lighting within the window frames to give the appearance that it was a normal apartment window from the outside. F'real,. what a bunch of morons, way to get the utilities companies all interested in what you're doing, huh!?
DEA Agents removed over 700 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $2,800,000, as well as the equipment to facilitate a marijuana grow operation.
I love these estimates... what do they do, try to figure out what the plants would be worth dried, manicured, cured, and sold for $60 an eighth? hahaha gotta love it.
