Mould During Drying..
Ok well we harvested a couple of weeks back, got about 40oz wet on the stalks, had them in a nice dark place, temp was about 70, they were drying brilliantly, got up 1 morning, went to check on how it was doing, and it had all gone mouldy !! Now i'm guessing it was because of the humidity in the room where we was drying, ive checked it as we are due for another harvest in 2 weeks and dont want the same mistake again. the humidity has come up at 70%, i'm guessing this is too much, ideally what should it be, and apart from buying a dehumidifier, which we will if have too, what can we do to reduce it ?

air flow, and dont put the buds to close together
you should rotate them every day if mold is a problem
do not smoke moldy bud. i've read it gives you lung problems

Damn. Actually I need your humidity levels right now lol. My humidity in my room doesn't seem to get above 50% ever. I want it to be at at least 60 right now.

the veg room and the flower room, the humidity is 50/60 its not a prob its just the actual room we were drying in, we binned the whole lot is smelt awful, was so dissapointing. we basically put the buds in an empty chest of drwaers lying on newspaper, no airflow, didnt give it a thought, just thought if it was dry and dark it would be ok, how wrong we were.

Well unless you just have bud to experiment with to dry if you've never done it before I wouldn't have done that. Everyone has their own way of doing things but honestly I plan on doing what most people do...hanging them up in the grow room. Seems like the best way to me. Every other method of drying just never appealed to me. Hanging manicured plants seem to be the best way to me.

Well when the plants are harvesting I imagine everything is finished so the lights would probably be off until the next grow lol. I am a small scale grower. Wont ever be growing more than 6 plants at a time if that. And if you can't dry them in grow room just find a closet and hang 'em up in there.Originally Posted by Just A Beginner

Oh...Well try and dry the plants in closet or something? Where is the grow? I was gonna suggest drying them in some place in the basement. If not hey, maybe you'll have to get a cardboard box and cut some holes in the sides and get some strings and tie it up in there and let little buds dry in the box in a dark place.
