When you see leaves that are unusually dark, Nitrogen toxicity is the first culprit.
Toxicity of one or more nutrients can also cause lockouts of other nutrients such as Mn as Haze said.
The leaves becoming deformed is another sign that you have a problem.
You really want to FLUSH FLUSH FLUSH!!!
The final flush should be with a complete fertilizer including micronutes, applied at only 1/4-1/2 strength.

But flushing will do no good if the water is the problem (bet some of you knew I was going to say that, eh?). Test your water for PH before doing anything.

The water is very rarely the problem and when you KNOW you have salt burn, even flushing with plain tap water is better than letting the plant sit there and scorch.

I've been growing with city water for years, I don't do a thing to it, and the only issue has been the with spring snow melt, the ppm of the source river seems to have dropped through the damned FLOOR and I ended up with a Ca deficiency... but it's all taken care of now...
If still in doubt, flush with distilled water.

Do you have the ability to test pH? That's very important.
