He (I) didn't know because he (I) has (have) never seen the movie.
Sorry.

Yeah, it is kind of cheesy, but you have to remember that back in 1984 there were fewer movie ratings than there are now. So, if a film was a little too racy it would be rated R and I'm sure the Breakfast Club was made for a younger audience (I was 10 when I saw it at the theater). They had to keep it tame to keep their PG rating. Unfortunately, it comprimises the movie when it becomes all about the money and not about integrity.

Yay! Breakfast Club rocks lol
It's all about identities and class separation dudes.
It's about dealing with adolescent issues, and trying to understand other peoples backgrounds and lifestyles.
It's aslo about the generation gap (ie, the teacher says: "kids are different to how we used to be", and the Janitor says: "Nope, the kids are the same as we used to be...we just got older" (or summat like that)).
It's about peer pressure and rebellion against the system..
John Hughes is a kick-ass film producer, and should be immortalised in the all-time Hall of Fame, for thought provoking movies, that don't necessarily subscribe to the ickly-sickly sweet ideals of Hollywood.
Nuff said!
lol

Babe I was 4 then. How would I remember that? Only someone as old as you would be able to recollect that.
