I was thinking that.... a lot of people new to smoking today are pressed about how much they know about marijuana but not just about the actual plant, but the terms used as well.

It seems its becoming a "respect" aspect in the whole scene. I dont think it should be like this. Cannabis should be respected for what it is. A plant that grows naturally in nature with a great distinct taste, smell, and look!

I don't think im wrong when I say that half of the kids out there just want to know all about it to appear cool. When it becomes like this, its just making "smoking weed" seem like something to do to "fit in". I was reading a thread about something like "How should I ask for $40.00 worth of weed?"
Im sorry but that shouldn't be something to worry about lol....just ask how much damn weed you can get for 40 bucks man. Who gives a shit how much you know or how much your dealer thinks you know.

Everywhere you go there are different terms, prices, ect. How you say it doesn't matter, you're getting the same end result. BUT there are things you shouldn't say to some people as it will make you look shadey, and you can't tell me if someone came up to you asking for "40 dollars worth of marijuana" you wouldn't be slightly put off.

that was my thread. I didn't ask to be cool I asked so I wouldn't look like a free rip off coupon to the dealer. But anyways, it's always been like that with kids and it always will be. Some kid don't care but some do and some do it to fit in. It's not all, but some.

I understand. That is true. However If any dealer tries to rip me off I will say something about it. They tell me how much I can get for how much money and if they don't give me that much I let em know. It puts them on the spot and they will almost always give you what they didn't give you before.

its different most everywhere you go. $40 worth might be an eighth were you live, and it might be like 2 grams somwhere else.

you have to remember that not every kid or person for that matter that wants to smoke weed automatically knows how to ask somebody for some sheeba. i dont really get what youre talkin about on knowin the terms. guess i dont hang out with enuf rookies to notice it. the only terms you need to know when smokin' is, "pass it". (side note: john lennon said to paul krassner when asked about the origins of Bogart, "if you remind sombody to pass the joint, then you lose your turn".)

If you ask 40 dollars worth of weed then the dealer will think you'r naive about weed, and might well rip you off...so i think terminology is fairly important in that respect.

However, i think some of the wrods people use (dank, fire, hydro) are pretty superficial, or inaccurate.
