I'm not even sure if it was said but if God said he wants you to worship him, that means to worship yourself, treat yourself and think of yourself as god. Bad things that happen in your life is often spirit trying to guide you into a different direction, and everything that happens is only for your highest good. For example " you get in a 2 hour traffic jam, then get gas awhile after that and meet a girl at the gas station that becomes your wife ect." if it wasnt for the traffic jam you would have never met her.
