    Lithium

I've been on Lithium for about 8 years now. What would be the side effects if I stopped taking it all together? I'm supose to take 1500 mg a day, 3 pills in the morning, and 2 at night. My stomach allways bothers me in the morning (allways have) so I ussually forget or skip all together. I am diagnosed as manic depressive but i honestly think that is a misdiagnoses based on false and misleading information (I was in a messed up place so I strtetched the truth a bit..ok a lot) So my real point is, everytime I get my lithium levels checked It allways comes up lower the the recomended levels, and if I'm not taking it to the full theraputic level, and I honestly don't think I'm manic depressive...I've only had a few manic episodes and those were brought on by sleep deprivation. I haven't taken my lithium in about 5 days now, and i don't want the damn pills no more, just wonderin if thyere are any side effects ffrom just stoping using my lithium...I hate the side effects of lithium itself: the shakes, my hands are never really steady, and allways being tired (not so much anymore) and I've heard it alters your sex drive too...that explains a lot really if its true. The litlle gnome hasn't been himself over the last few years lol. Any one have advice about this? Birdgirl?

Oh and i don't want to discuss it with my doctor, I don't want to be put on somethin else right now. If anything I need pills for my anxiety more then anything, but not right now...
