Male plants are only about 1/2 as potent as females. They grow pollinating flowers, not the desired female bud. Only a few male plants are worth even bothering with to smoke- the sticky resin that makes you high, is a genetic bummer for males, their pollen sticks to it, rather than floating free to pollinate females. But every once in a while there is a "kick-ass" male. Last grow I had 2 males, one was normal (no trichs to speak of) the other had a few trichs, but nowhere as many as his sisters. I let the "triched out" male live to pollinate his sisters, but I kept him away from them in a separate grow area (close, but not too close). I'm getting a few seeds in each bud. Just enough so I don't have to buy seeds.

Gatekeeper made a small mistake, however, hermies usually come from female plants that have a low tolerance to stress and go hermie (it's a survival thing). Normal male plants fertilizing your female plants will give you ordinary seeds, not hermie seeds.

If all that is available in your area is sinsemilla, you may wish to let a male live to insure your supply of seeds (get a Radio Shack microscope and look at the male's for trichs). All you gotta do to remove seeds from your bud is to get that wire mesh strainer from the kitchen and rub the dried bud through it. All the seeds and stems will be in the strainer, while finely flaked bud (perfect for rolling) will fall through the mesh.

As an old hippie, I date back to the days when most bud was seeded. You guys are spoiled rotten with the sinsemilla! I prefer seeded bud of good quality- I get seeds that have a great potential to be better than the original bud (making seeds takes a bit away from making THC).
