I have had mixed success with that.
It CAN be done.
Cut off only the very best of the buds. Leave as much leafy material as possible on the plant, including 'popcorn buds' that have leaves sticking out of them.
Put the girl under 24 h MH or flouro light and give her a veg fert and some superthrive.
If she's potbound, repot her too.
It may take a month to see new growth.... don't overwater during that time!!!

One of them seems to be done any second now, it looks great and it has all the fan leaves still, slightly going yellow, but i have been on top of the nutes so it should be fine.
