help with Co2 schedule
When running Co2 in a closed system with a ppm controller, will any problems occur if there is no air exhausted ever. For example if I were to set the Co2 controller to run at 1800ppm an hour after lights turn on (Is it necessary to wait??), and then just use the photosensor for night turn co2 off. Will the Co2 naturally come down in ppms before the light turns on so I wont lock up the stomatas? AC will be used to handle heat of the air cooled 1000 horilux. Should I use Co2 all the way to the end of Flower? Peace

Blazed from what I have read, which is a great deal on this very subject because it was originally in my plans you need following.
Got to get temps up for plants to use the C02 for starters.
Seems as if all who explain setup do the 2 hour cycle. Meaning they bring in fresh air which contains ~300 PPM of C02, then their controller adds enough from a burner or tank that ups to ~1500PPM. Then for the 2 hour period the controller adds as needed to hold that level.
Then, at end of the 2 hour period, you "exchange" all the air in the room, bring in more fresh air, add C02 again, and repeat.
Not being able for you to exchange the air would do uhhhh, I dont know. Ya need Zandor or one of the true grow gurus to assist ya with this.
So, there are other conditions that you need to have tweaked and working efficently to do this the right way is my take. (sealed room, HID lights of course, right temp, etc) Need fans blowing upwards, feed from top. C02 heavier than air.
When done properly it must be worth all you need to do. For me, I am perfectly content with what I get now. I dont need C02 burner (which for some reason scares the shit out of me) or a tank to worry about keeping filled.
All in all I most likely didnt tell you a fucking thing you didnt already know, but I cant sleep and felt like typing..........

Yes you can use a sealed room with CO2 and absolutely no air exchange. That is what I and many other people use. If I cut off CO2 at 1500ppm when the lights go off, ppm will go down to about 900 or 1000 by the morning but it never drops below that for us. Its nice to lower the ppm at night, so if you could start to drop temps and turn CO2 off an hour before lights went off that would probably be ideal but I dont think its necessary.
A recirculating air conditioner is essential for this to operate correctly (one that does not remove any air from the room). There is a very fine line between achieving the temps needed for proper CO2 usage and getting things too hot and stressing the plants. An environment controller is a must.
I use an IGS-220 which allows me to set temp levels. When things get above 85, A/C kicks in. At night, my temps are set at 15 degrees lower then in the day. The A/C only needs to turn on a few times at night to keep this temp (sometimes not at all). Dehumidifier keeps things dry at night, the A/C keeps things dry in the day (they do the same thing, but an A/C blows away the hot air). The IGS is nice because it allows you to change differentials so you can change the amount of temperature change needed before kicking on the A/C, so if your A/C keeps going on all the time for short periods of time, you can increase the differential so that the A/C runs less often for longer but achieves nearly the same results. It also allows you to look at hourly temps/humidity/co2 levels, etc.

More explanation on how it could be deadly would be appreciated Loc Nar. RacerX, would a portable air conditioner with a vent hose exchange the air or would a window unit be necessary? Which units dont exchange air is my main question. A window unit would be much louder in my situation so a portable would be best. I now vent my window unit into my garage which is partitioned with my growing area. Do the controllers work directly with the air conditioner thermostat. I would think that if the controller would just turn the power of the AC on and off the temp would be reset. I'm a little confused on this. I have been using excellofizz in my 10 X 5 area with great success. Peace
