R.O. is great if your raw water is decent. If not, buy the R.O. membranes by the skid.

You dont get distilled water in those machines. Most times its pseudo R.O. water (2 pass R.O.). Many only run water thru carbon filter to take chlorine out. The chlorine gives municipal water that shitty taste. Municipal water is usually pretty decent, it has to be. It can be harder than the hubs of hell, depending on where you live.

D.I. water will eat copper pipes, literally and in a very short period of time. I dont know what it would do to plants. If you ever get a spot free rinse at a car wash, they use D.I. water. It has zero minerals left in it = no spots.

Dont forget, you dont get gallon for gallon. To get one gallon of R.O. water it might take 5 gallons of your tap water. The rejection rate is determined by the quality of the water before you run thru R.O.

And thats your water lesson for day....
