I have recently been toying with the idea of building a hydroponic setup, but I must admit that I don't know the first thing about raising hydroponic plants. I've been reading around the site, and I'm aware that water temp, fertilizers (not sure what I should use there), and water pH are very important factors, but that's pretty much the extent of my knowledge.

To get to the point, I'm seeking advice from experienced 'dro growers to a nooblet in this field.

If you are considering hydro you should also take soilless mix into consideration!
For example, coco fibre... it is very forgiving for a lowly nOOb.
Flood and drain is also not too tough to build a DIY!
I've done both and FAAAAR prefer coco.
Best of luck! There are some really knowledgeable hydro peeps here.

Ya dood, there's a lot of stuff to use out there. I'd just build a few different ways, try em out and bam...within a year of experimenting and reading, you should have it down lika G!
