    Shade leaves shouldnt be cut. They stop growing, so the ones it has are very important - the plant needs them to photosynthesise and create energy to put into budding. Also, you'll halt the plants growth stage while it recovers not only from the shock, but also from the cuts. If you did enough it could even turn it hermie through stress. Never cut anything unless you really have to.
