You can make absinthe at home by purchasing a kit. I mada a double batch one year ago on Thanksgiving. It has been finished and wating since then. I am going to drink some come this Christmas.

Here is a link to the ingredients (all in a kit). All you have to do is buy a bottle of everclear or any other strong alcohol and follow the instructions.
